Gursimran Padda Setting Up for Success Fellow, NASH RRI

Gursimran serves as a fellow with the NASH RRI through its Setting Up For Success Initiative. As a student in Stony Brook University’s Globalization Studies program, Gursimran has consistently displayed a deep passion for international affairs and humanitarianism. He has worked with his campus’ UNICEF club, serving as the Vice President, bringing awareness to and raising funds for humanitarian crises globally through hosting events like educational teach-ins, and student-led discussion and awareness programs. Gursimran has also been involved in furthering research in the domain of refugee and migrant studies, working with professors on his campus for research analyzing international adoption as a means of human mobility for children, and the role the state plays in the process. Through NASH, Gursimran hopes to advance his knowledge in the field of refugee and migrant studies through gaining valuable insight into the policy space.
