Eric Ishiwata is the Director of Access and Outreach, Office of Engagement and Extension, Associate Professor, Department of Ethnic Studies at Colorado State University. His work focuses on immigrant integration, refugee resettlement, and intercultural community building.

With his team of community partners, Ishiwata is engaged in a variety of resident-driven programs in Fort Morgan, Greeley, Estes Park, Fort Collins, and Leadville, with funding support from the Colorado Health Foundation, the Women’s Foundation of Colorado, the Bohemian Foundation, Together We Count, Blueprint to End Hunger, the State of Colorado, Larimer County United Way, Centennial Board of Cooperative Educational Services, and Poudre School District.

He serves as a Faculty Practitioner in Critical Community Engagement for CSU’s Access Center, Affiliate Faculty member for CSU’s Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research, member of CSU’s Undocumented Student Support Committee, board member for the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado and the Interfaith Solidarity and Accompaniment Coalition of Northern Colorado, and member of the New American Subcommittee for the Governor’s Office.
