Finish Strong Nursing Initiative Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges

Years ago, it was identified that many of the 300+ LACCD nursing graduates each year were waiting 8 or more months to take the NCLEX exam due to the cost of the exam and related licensing fees. This timeline resulted in lower pass rates and a delay in employment and community services as a RN. The Finish Strong Nursing Initiative provides financial support in the form of NCLEX exam stipends and basic needs grants. The Foundation works with partners and donors to fund the NCLEX exam and basic needs scholarships by targeting last semester nursing students. This ensures registered nurses can graduate and get working in critical shortage areas more quickly without being hampered by financial pressures.
