Who We Are

NASH's Office of Workforce Development helps higher education systems in NASH’s membership scale employer-aligned pathways, foster cross-sector collaboration, and progress social mobility for learners nationwide.

Why Systems, Why Now

Local employers and economic development leaders serve on region‑specific Steering Committees to identify real‑time labor needs, define hire‑ready competencies, and surface skills gaps. CSU translates those inputs into short, stackable, high‑impact badges that include:

  • One durable‑skills course
  • One technical‑skills course
  • One compensated workplace learning experience

Together, these components create clear, employer‑aligned pathways into high‑demand jobs across the state.

Community‑Based Support for Learners

A signature feature of Talent Readiness–Colorado is its statewide network of community‑based organizations (CBOs). Each learner receives one‑to‑one support from a trusted local partner providing:

  • Personalized navigation
  • In‑classroom learning support
  • Wraparound services
  • Coaching from enrollment through employment

This approach recognizes that learner support is essential. Trusted, community‑rooted organizations can help learners persist through the challenges that too often derail working adults, including transportation, childcare, and navigating new training environments.

Scaling Workforce Innovation

As CSU leads implementation in Colorado, NASH is building the infrastructure to document the model, capture what works, and translate insights for systems nationwide. By bringing together employer‑driven design, community‑based learner support, and cross‑sector collaboration, Talent Readiness–Colorado serves as a model designed for scale.
