PROFILE | William Bajor
William Bajor Improvement Coach
Dr. William Bajor currently serves as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs in the Office of the Chancellor for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). In addition to transfer success, his portfolio includes program review, management of the academic program inventory and program compliance with applicable policies, procedures and standards. Regardless of assignment, his role demands that best practices are spread across universities and scaled up at the system level while poorly performing activities are eliminated or measurably reduced in scale and impact. His work as a Founding System Lead revealed that the improvement science methodology provides the perfect hands-on, learning lab for trying out new ideas in a highly structured format and rapid-fire time frame via small tests of change yielding all too frequently highly significant results. Prior to joining the Office of the Chancellor, Dr. Bajor served in various roles over a six-year period at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU), including Director of Graduate and Extended Studies and Director of Assessment, Accreditation and Academic Planning, the latter of which included being ESU’s library director and accreditation liaison officer. Dr. Bajor holds a B.A. from New York University, LL.M. from the University of Edinburgh (UK), and a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews (UK). With studies and scholarly interests in Economics, Political Science, International Law, and Social Anthropology, Dr. Bajor is especially passionate about themes concerned with Human Rights. Dr. Bajor is happily married and the proud father of a lovely daughter.
