NASH Helps Pilot New AI Tool to Advance Transfer Student Success

A new artificial intelligence tool called CourseWise is helping colleges streamline the challenging process of evaluating transfer credits, a long-standing barrier for students moving between institutions. Developed through research at the University of California, Berkeley and piloted at more than 120 campuses nationwide, CourseWise uses AI to learn from past decisions and recommend equivalent courses, reducing administrative time and variation in how credits are assessed. NASH’s Center for Data & Analytics, led by Director Daniel Knox, is a partner in the pilot, which aims to make transfer pathways more transparent and efficient for students and institutions alike.
